Inefficiencies that led to costly mistakes
THE BIG RESULTS
Smooth operations that take advantage of supplier rebates
Summary
For me, it comes down to how much time you are spending ordering materials and following up on materials. If you can save any time with that, it is a huge win.

I appreciate the comprehensive products that Kojo has built. The warehouse, the tool tracking, the accounts payable module - all working with procurement.

The Story

BCH Mechanical, a part of Comfort Systems USA, is a leading mechanical contractor based in Florida with more than 45 years of experience delivering fresh air and clean water systems. Their success is powered in part by a 28,000 sq. ft. prefabrication facility, a fully automated sheet metal shop that produces up to 4 million pounds of ductwork annually—a cornerstone of BCH’s operational excellence.

With such advanced fabrication and project capabilities, BCH’s material procurement process needed a modern boost. Before adopting Kojo, purchasing was a manual, time-consuming, and occasionally error-prone process. Every purchase order had to be created line-by-line by the central procurement team. Grant Walker, Purchasing Manager, recalls how frequent errors and omissions in POs led to delays and financial setbacks.

Project Managers like Andrew McAuliffe were also noticing inefficiencies that could be solved by technology. If they needed an update on an order or had to expedite materials, they often had to reach out to suppliers directly, consuming valuable time and creating inconsistency across the different project managers. Without centralized visibility or standardized workflows, managing procurement was inefficient and risky.

With these challenges in mind, BCH had a clear vision to leverage technology to streamline operations and reduce risk. They needed a tool built for the way contractors work.

The Solution

Kojo is proud to be one of the key players in BCH’s modern evolution. Grant has seen this evolution first hand and can measure the difference. With Kojo, Grant and the procurement team no longer waste time manually building POs or chasing down issues after the fact. Kojo’s invoice matching feature automatically flags discrepancies between orders and delivery receipts, allowing them to catch and correct errors in real time.

One of the most tangible impacts? A 40% increase in quick-pay discounts from suppliers, saving BCH more than $140,000 over two years, just from implementing a more efficient process with Kojo.

For Andrew and the project management team, the biggest win is time. The reduction in the back-and-forth supplier communication shaves hours off of their workload a week, keeping projects on schedule. Plus, the PMs have the flexibility in how they order - through submittals, quotes, standard materials lists, or however they like to work.

But what makes Kojo actually work for BCH is how user friendly it is. Kojo’s intuitive design and integration with BCH’s ERP system make it easy for teams to adopt and scale across departments. Overall, Kojo works for BCH because it has a comprehensive product that spans across procurement, warehouse, prefab, and tool tracking, making it the perfect tool for mechanical contractors. BCH is looking forward to the continued evolution of working with Kojo.
